Security Officer


Location: Newport
Position: Security Officer
Employment: 4 on 4 off basis between the hours of 05:30 - 17:30
Salary: £12 an hour

About the client:

Our client is a renowned company at the forefront of innovative transportation solutions. With a rich history in engineering excellence, they have established themselves as a global leader in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of cutting-edge rolling stock for various transportation sectors. Due to ongoing and continued growth, they are looking for a competent Security Officer to join their team in Newport, Wales.

The successful applicant will be required to work on a 4 on 4 off basis between the hours of 05:30 – 17:30

 

Main duties:

  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry to authorised personnel only
  • Ensuring that all permitted visitors receive a ‘high end’ customer experience from entry to exit.
  • Responsible for manging the sites key control
  • Ensuring arrival of delivers are announced to the warehouse and directed to the correct location of site.
  • Observe for signs of crime or disorder and investigate accordingly
  • Take accurate notes to complete reports, logbook entries and all relevant paperwork to a high standard - including reporting in detail any incidents occurring whilst on duty
  • Monitor and control access to the site
  • Ensure risk assessment and assignment instructions are always followed to meet requirements
  • To assist in training new security officers in all aspects of their job
  • To take effective action in an emergency and co-operate fully with the relevant services
  • Enforce all relevant health and safety requirements at all times
  • Carry out any other duties of a reasonable request by the client

 

The successful applicant must:

  • Maintain an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Be computer literate with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Possess good time management skills.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders.
